Salisbury Cathedral Day Out

The Diocese of Salisbury branch of the Prayer Book Society is organising an interesting and unusual event on Saturday 16th September. This focuses on an illustrated talk by Gary Price, Clerk of Works at Salisbury Cathedral, on the work of the stonemasons and a tour of the Works yard. Gary has spent his working life at Salisbury and has seen 35 years of repair and restoration work at the Cathedral. This year will see the completion of the Cathedral’s east face, and the final removal of the scaffolding after about 40 years.

There will also be coffee to start with, tea and Evensong later in the day, and time to enjoy Salisbury and its various lunch and heritage options.

Gerry Lynch will be driving there, and is happy to take a carload. He will be leaving Devizes at 10 am, arriving back by 7.15 pm. Please contact me on rev@gerrylynch.co.uk or 07521 440 622 if you are interested.
