Rehearsals
Friday Evening
Young choristers 7pm | Adults 7.45pm
Our younger choristers are joined by the adults at 7.45pm, with everyone finishing at 8.30pm.
Sundays
9.30am for the 10.30am service
The choir rehearses at 9.30am for the 10.30am service which is usually a Parish Eucharist.
Being a chorister
Our younger choristers are paid monthly, based on attendance, as the church’s way of thanking them for their considerable time and effort. Upon leaving, several have gone on to pursue music at university and beyond.
Concerts
The choir gives at least one concert a year at St John’s, and is occasionally called upon for various ‘away’ trips and is always looking for more opportunities to sing away from home.
Being Sociable
Choristers also enjoy getting together socially with events including a summer barbecue to a bowling night in the winter, while, in addition, the youngsters have an annual treat all to themselves such as a pizza party.
