Thou visitest the earth - Maurice Greene
Maurice Greene (1696–1755) was organist of St Paul’s Cathedral and the Chapel Royal, and later Master of the King’s Musick - one of the most celebrated English church musicians of his generation. “Thou visitest the earth” is the joyful concluding movement of his harvest anthem “Acquaint thyself with God,” its dancing melody and warm harmony making it a long-standing favourite for services of thanksgiving in English cathedrals and parish churches.
